Do French manicure at home

How to do a French manicure at home
A French manicure is often considered the most elegant style of painting your fingernails, since it combines polish with a natural look that is really classy.

If you're going for a job interview or have a formal dinner to attend, the French manicure is ideal and can easily be done at home with a little patience and the right tools. It's extremely popular with women because of its simplicity. The French manicure also gives the nails a clean, well-groomed appearance that is neither flashy nor fussy.

Get it clean
Any good manicure starts with scrubbing your hands and nails till all the dirt and grime is completely gone. Use a good quality file instead of cheap metal ones. For a classic finish, your nails shouldn't be very long. Medium length with a smooth, oval shape will look perfect. Use cuticle clippers to remove stray hangnails that are caused by dry skin and push the cuticles back gently.

Painting them
After filing your nails to the perfect shape, paint your entire nail with the base coat colour and let it dry. Keep this base coat thin and even. If you tend to have a problem painting nails cleanly, apply a little petroleum jelly on the skin of your fingers around the nail. The petroleum jelly keeps the polish from sticking to your skin if you should slip up while painting.

Fine tips
The tricky part of this style of manicure is brushing white polish onto your fingernails. Take special care, so that you stay within the guides and get no white polish on the lower part of the nail.

Clear finish
Finish your French manicure by painting the entire nail with the a transparent coat of polish. This will help your manicure stay fresh longer by protecting it and it gives a shiny and unified gloss to each nail. To extend the life of your French manicure and to keep your nails nice and looking well-groomed, you should make it a point to apply an extra layer of top coat on your nails every night.
